Mission Statement

The purpose of the Asian American Commerce group (AACG) is to foster the advancement and create synergy within the Asian American community in Ohio and the global business markets. We provide a forum for the Asian American business community through consulting, networking, and unification.

In 1993, the city of Columbus proposed a Minority Business Set Aside Program. The program considered only African Americans and women as minorities. Before 1993, Asian Americans in Central Ohio were living their lives quietly in their own groups.

Most of the Asian ethnic groups each had their own cultural groups and activities. These ethnic groups did not intermingle. They were primarily unaware of the existence of other groups and uninterested in developing contacts.
